About the Area
Lutz is a charming small town in Hillsborough County. Just 15 miles north of Tampa, it offers convenient access to the Gulf Coast’s beautiful beaches and the countless activities along the shore.
The town of Lutz was founded as a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad. As train travel became less popular, the depot was eventually demolished. But would-be residents couldn’t deny the beauty of the area. The area grew as families moved south from Tampa. In 2000, a replica of the depot that started it all was built, so the community could continue to celebrate its history.
