Job Description:
***Second Shift***
Manages clean linen distribution and maintains tracking and accountability of linen supplies. Ensures all equipment and supplies are kept clean and in working condition. Supervises staff by assigning work, training, hiring, evaluating performance, administering progressive discipline, and recommending termination as appropriate. Creates and reviews schedules, approving scheduling requests to ensure adequate coverage. Regularly surveys departmental procedures for adherence to acceptable cleaning practices, ensuring compliance with State/Federal regulations and standards. Resolves patient satisfaction concerns in a timely manner. Monitors and replenishes supplies as needed. Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors. Reviews and updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards. Manages reporting logs in the department, including Attendance, Hazardous Materials Monthly inspections, and Hazardous Books compliance. Coordinates the ATP-GEL process and compliance, reporting inspections to leadership to ensure staff notification and training, if applicable. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
- Able to communicate in English [Required]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) [Required]
- Minimum of three (3) years hospital housekeeping or other building maintenance experience [Required]
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisor experience [Required]
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and control [Required]
- Knowledge of all phases of healthcare cleaning [Required]
- Ability to work with all levels of staff and customers [Required]
- Ability to manage expenses and work within a budgeting process [Required]
- Ability to conduct meetings and training sessions [Required]
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention Practices [Required]
- Knowledge of safe chemical usage [Required]
- Safety issues related to healthcare [Required]
- Excellent customer and employee relations skills [Required]
- Flexibility in scheduling of hours, including the requirement to work overtime, weekends, and holidays [Required]
- Good oral communication skills [Required]
- Excellent organization and people skills [Required]
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well with others, using tact, diplomacy, and discretion [Required]
- Exceptional customer service skills; ability to diplomatically handle stressful situations [Required]
- Ability to articulate comprehensive knowledge of general and specialized practices and both performs and instructs others [Required]
Education:
- High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Health Administration
Work Experience:
- 1+ leadership/management experience [Preferred]
- 1+ technical experience [Required]
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Service Professional (CHESP) [Preferred]
